  PRODUCTION/PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ARTS ARTS HISTORY AND CULTURE CONNECTIONS ARTS CRITICISM AESTHETICS
6-7-8 Apply knowledge of basic components and technical skills in creating a work of art. Interpret the components in works of art. Compare and contrast works of art through historical and cultural connections. Develop the connections among the Arts and other disciplines. Create informed judgements based on concepts and components. Develop a personal opinion about aesthetics based on concepts and components.
    1. Assessment: Create a collection of Arts responses, including evidence of knowledge and skills in all six strands of Arts content.
      Collection must include:
        - narrative response (self-evaluation, interpretation, etc.)
        - completed basic skills and vocabulary checklist
        - artifacts, as appropriate
      Possible activities include:
        - webbing
        - note-taking
        - peer evaluation
        - demonstration
        - performance
        - cooperative learning
        - Venn diagrams
        - teacher observations
        - work sheets
        - journals
        - sketchbooks
        - posters
        - other
