  PRODUCTION/PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE ARTS ARTS HISTORY AND CULTURE CONNECTIONS ARTS CRITICISM AESTHETICS
PK-K-1 Interact with concepts and skills while making and presenting works of art. Identify the components in a variety of works of art. Explore a variety of historical and cultural works of art. Examinee the connections among the Arts and other disciplines. Respond to different works in the Arts.
2-3 Investigate concepts and skills while designing and developing works of art. Recognize the components in a variety of works of art. Identify similarities and differences among cultural and historical works of art. Identify the connections among the Arts and other disciplines. Recognize the similarities and differences in various works of art.
4-5 Implement concepts and skills while creating and presenting works of art. Compare and contrast the components in works of art. Connect a work of art to a culture and/or an historical period. Explain the connections among the Arts and other disciplines Develop and explain personal responses to different works in the Arts.
    1. Assessment: Create a collection of Arts responses, including evidence of knowledge and skills in all six strands of Arts content.
      Collection must include:
        - narrative response (self-evaluation, interpretation, etc.)
        - completed basic skills and vocabulary checklist
        - artifacts, as appropriate
      Possible activities include:
        - webbing
        - note-taking
        - peer evaluation
        - cooperative learning
        - performance
        - cloze activities
        - Venn diagrams
        - teacher observations
        - work sheets
        - journals
        - sketchbooks

        - other
