  PHYSICAL EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE PHYSICAL SKILLS FITNESS HEALTH KNOWLEDGE HEALTH SKILLS
9-10-11 Acquire the knowledge necessary to perform a variety of physical activities. Perform a variety (team, dual, and individual) of physical activities. Assess personal fitness and design a personal fitness plan. Analyze concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention. Analyze own health-enhancing behaviors that reduce health risks.

A. Physical Education Knowledge

    1. Standard: Acquire the knowledge necessary to perform a variety of physical activities.
    2. Assessment: Complete multiple activities to demonstrate knowledge of rules, strategies, and sportsmanship.
    3. Rubric
Meets Standards Exceeds Standards
 
  • The assessment satisfies all the Meets Standard criteria. Additionally,
  • Activities demonstrate knowledge of rules, strategies, and sportsmanship.
 
  • Student regularly participates in physical activity to address weaknesses.
  • Student consistently participates in physical activity to address weaknesses.
  • Student completes projects accurately and at a score of 70% of better.
 

B. Physical Skills

    1. Standard: Perform a variety (team or dual and individual) of physical activities.
    2. Assessment: Actively participate in one team activity/sport or one dual activity/sport and one individual activity/sport.
    3. Rubric
Meets Standards Exceeds Standards
 
  • The assessment satisfies all the Meets Standard criteria. Additionally,
  • Student completes all the basic requirements for each physical activity/sport.
  • Student completes more than the basic requirements for each physical activity/sport.
  • Student regularly participates in physical activity to address weaknesses.
  • Student consistently participates in physical activity to address weaknesses.

C. Fitness

    1. Standard: Assess personal fitness and design a personal fitness plan.
    2. Assessment: Complete a fitness analysis to include:
      a. Evaluation of own fitness
        - body composition
        - cardiovascular fitness
        - flexibility
        - muscular endurance
        - muscular strength
      b. Comparison to fitness norms
      c. Graphing of results
      d. Analysis of own fitness and response to analysis
      e. A personal fitness plan that identifies own areas of need and addresses standards
    3. Rubric
Meets Standards Exceeds Standards
 
  • The assessment satisfies all the Meets Standard criteria. Additionally,
  • Student completed all the basic requirements for each fitness analysis.
  • Student completed the basic requirements for fitness analysis and scored in the good or better category for all fitness components.
  • Student regularly participates in physical activity to address weaknesses.
  • Student consistently participates in physical activity to address weaknesses.
  • Graph is completed accurately.
  • A series of graphs illustrates progress in personal fitness.

D. Health Knowledge and Health Skills

    1. Standard: Analyze concepts related to health promotion and disease prevention. Analyze own health-enhancing behaviors that reduce health risks.
    2. Assessment: Complete multiple activities to demonstrate knowledge of health promotion, disease prevention, and health-enhancing behaviors.
    3. Rubric

  • The assessment satisfies all the Meets Standard criteria. Additionally,
  • Activities demonstrate knowledge of health promotion, disease prevention, and health enhancing behaviors.
