Financial Transparency
Mapleton Public Schools is one of seven school districts in Adams County, Colorado. At 18 square miles, it is one of the smallest districts in Adams County and is located in the southern section of the county. 95% of the District is considered fully developed.
The District is bordered on the east by Adams County School District No. 14 (Commerce City); on the west by Adams County School District No. 50 (Westminster); on the north by Adams County School District No. 12 (Northglenn-Thornton); and on the south by Denver Public Schools. The District is centrally located in the Denver metropolitan area, with major transportation routes bisecting the district. The northern third of the District is within the boundary of the City of Thornton, while the southern two-thirds is located in unincorporated Adams County. The portion located in Thornton is primarily residential, while the southern portion of the district is comprised of heavy to light industry.
Mapleton provides services for over 7200 students this year and employs over 800 teacher, education support professionals and administrators.
