County School District No.1 |
Press Release For Immediate Release October 30, 2001 |
|
From February 1 to April 12, students across the district will be hunkering down for the battery of tests known as the CSAP, or Colorado State Assessment Program, Karla Kohman, the district's assessment told the board Tuesday.
Four new tests
have been added this year, including a writing test in third grade and a math
test in grades six, seven and nine.
Also, third grade students with an IEP who cannot take the CSAP will take the
CSAP-A ("alternative").
Changes from last year include requiring students in grades three and four for more than three years to take the English CSAP. Last year, these students might have been able to take the Spanish CSAP. Also, students enrolled before February 1, not October 1, will be counted in report card calculations, Kohman said.
"We're going
to be held accountable for students we've had no time to teach," said board
member Ellen Haug.
