>Board candidates to participate in forum

Candidates for the Mapleton Board of Education get to share their views on the future of Mapleton with community members Oct. 17.

"The Mapleton Education Association wants to give the community a chance to meet the school board candidates and get to know why they are running," said Don Hergenreter, the MEA president.

The forum will be from 7-9 p.m. at the Rosa Auditorium at Skyview High School. The candidates deliver prepared comments for about 15 minutes each, and then the audience will be able to ask the candidates questions.

Mapleton's five board members serve staggered, four-year terms. This year, three seats are up. The other two seats will be up for election in 2003. All seats are at-large.

This year's candidates are (in alphabetical order): Carole Adducci (incumbent), Eugene Brienza, Chuck Glaser (incumbent), and Diann Ketelhut.
