Mapleton Board of Education names superintendent finalists

The Mapleton Board of Education released on July 17 the names of the three finalist candidates for superintendent. Following is the list of the finalist candidates and the position each currently holds.

Dr. John Hefty
Superintendent, Brighton School District

Ms. Peg Portscheller
Director of Policy Initiatives, McREL

Ms. Charlotte Scarpella
Executive Director of Learning Services, Mapleton Public Schools

The finalists will interview with groups representing community, classified staff, teachers and administrators on July 18. The board expects to announce its choice by Wednesday, July 25, and have a new superintendent in place by August 15.
