Achieve Academy at Bertha Heid (Pre-K-8) "School of Science and Inquiry" At Achieve Academy, students develop powerful problem-solving and critical thinking skills by investigating and examining facts and information, also known as Inquiry. The personalized school setting encourages students to extend their natural curiosity through engaging classroom activities and daily lesson plans. Students develop ideas about their life and their relationship to the natural world. The five tenants of Inquiry-based learning are: Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, and Evaluation. The Science and Inquiry focus allows students to refine their analytical skills by teaching them to investigate their learning, make observations and gather evidence to support solutions. Inquiry instruction is implemented in all subject areas - reading, writing, math and science. Achieve also places a strong focus on college preparation through its involvement with the University of Colorado's Pre-Collegiate Program for seventh and eighth graders. Students learn from teachers who are committed to creating lifelong learners by engaging them through Science and Inquiry.
