North Valley School for Young Adults
North Valley School for Young Adults offers students ages 17-20 a new educational pathway to success, providing an opportunity to get back on track and earn a high school diploma.
In this highly personalized school, students create Personalized Learning Plans based on their existing credits, learning style and skill level. This plan helps each student recover the credits they need to graduate and the skills they need to achieve their dreams.
Using a variety of classroom instruction, including college partnerships, online learning and direct teacher instruction, students receive the help and support they need to be successful. Upon graduation, students receive a high school diploma. North Valley does not have a GED program.
All students at North Valley work one-on-one with a Post Secondary Coach and Advisory Teacher. Students also participate in service learning projects, community events, and individual goal setting discussions to support learning both inside and outside the classroom. Classroom teachers and staff expect North Valley students to be in the lead of their learning. As young adults, students are expected to set and monitor their goals, be responsible for their own actions, and hold high expectations for themselves and others.
