Mapleton Public Schools and the Board of Education promote healthy schools by supporting student wellness, good nutrition, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning environment. Schools contribute to the basic health status of students by facilitating learning through the support and promotion of good nutrition and physical activity. Improved health optimizes student performance potential, as children who eat well-balanced meals and are healthy are more likely to learn in the classroom.
Please join the DAAC meeting on Tuesday, December 17th at 4:30 as they review the wellness policy in the district boardroom located at 7480 Broadway. Students, parents, and Mapleton staff are welcome and encouraged to attend and participate during this review. Additional meeting dates will be added when DAAC participants request additional time to understand and comment on specific topics.
Mapleton Public Schools uses the Colorado Healthy Schools Smart Source Evaluation Tool to assess implementation. Below are the results from the fall 2019 assessments by school.
The district wellness policy implementation summary can be found here.
