Colorado Academic State Standards
School Districts were required by Colorado State Statute (CRS 22-7-407) to adopt standards that meet or exceed the revised Colorado State Standards by December 2011. In March 2010, Mapleton Public Schools Board of Education adopted the revised Colorado State Standards for all available content areas to be used to plan instruction for students grades PreK-12.
In December 2009, the Colorado State Board of Education adopted the revised Colorado State Standards for the following content areas:
- Reading, Writing and Communicating
- Science
- Social Studies
- Mathematics
- Visual Arts
- World Languages
- Music
- Drama and Theater Arts
- Dance
- Health and Physical Education
The support materials were on display in the Administration Building for public review and comment for 30 days prior to the Board's approval. The Colorado Department of Education website includes individual grade level specific standards booklets in each content area. To access these booklets, click here or use their online standards system.
The Board of Education also adopted the State Standards for Colorado English Language Proficiency (World-Class Instruction Design and Assessment or WIDA). Access the CELP standards and support here.
