Approaches to Learning (ATL) Skills

  • IB students not only have strong academic competence, but a hallmark of the IB program is the development of learning skills that have application across academic disciplines and contexts (school, home, workplace, athletics, community, and social settings). Every York teacher intentionally promotes student practice with, and reflection on, these different Approaches to Learing (ATL) skills. These skills contribute to student self-awareness, promote effective collaboration with peers and adults, contribute to post-secondary success, and represent some of the skills most highly sought after by employers.
