Dr. Maggie Greenwood

Dr. Maggie Greenwood (she/her) is a band director for Mapleton Public Schools. She assists Mrs. Dillmann for High School Zero Hour Band and teaches 6th grade beginning band at Meadow and Clayton. Before joining the Mapleton team, Dr. Greenwood taught collegiate orchestra for eight years as well as private lessons on woodwinds, piano, and strings.

Dr. Greenwood's primary instrument is clarinet, which she has three degrees in. She also loves playing flute and saxophone along with clarinet in pit orchestras for musicals. Her favorite thing about band is all of the friends she's made playing these instruments. No matter where she goes, band and orchestra people make her feel loved by playing fun music together.

Dr. Greenwood completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2019 where she studied with Daniel Silver. She also studied at the University of North Texas (MM, 2013) with Daryl Coad and Missouri State University (BM, 2011) with Dr. Allison Storochuk. She currently lives in the Denver area and enjoys gardening, baking, and hiking when she's not teaching or performing.
