Global Leadership Academy valedictorian pursues goals to help community
Eduardo A., a Global Leadership Academy (GLA) senior, has a good track record for setting and accomplishing big goals. He made two goals as a freshman to graduate as his school’s valedictorian and attend the Colorado School of Mines. Academy High School graduate headed to Loyola to study forensic science
Bad guys beware! Yareli A., an Academy High School senior, is headed to Loyola University Chicago this fall, on scholarship, to study forensic science so she can eventually work for the FBI as a forensic scientist. She became interested in the field when she started watching the television show “Criminal Minds.” Though the show is fictional, her motives are serious. Click the picture on the left to read more.

Mapleton Online graduate found right environment for him in high school
Judah P. is among the first students to graduate from Mapleton Online since it became an official K-12 school last May. He started there not long after the pandemic began, in March 2020, as he was finishing his freshman year at another school and, for a variety of reasons, decided to stay. Mapleton Early Career Prep graduate also earns basic construction certificate
When Alan A. graduates from Mapleton Early Career Prep (MEC – Prep) on Saturday, May 20, it will be the second time he walks at a commencement ceremony in as many weeks. He is among the first 12 students from the school to earn a basic construction certificate from Front Range Community College (FRCC), through a partnership with the nonprofit trade school BuildStrong Academy. He will collect that certificate at the FRCC Westminster Campus in a ceremony on Wednesday, May 10. Click the picture on the left to read more.

North Valley School for Young Adults student receives second chance to finish high school
Many people need a second chance in some part of their lives, but not everyone is fortunate enough to get one. That’s why, for learners who want a second chance at finishing high school, Mapleton offers the North Valley School for Young Adults. Their first graduate of the 2022-23 school year, Miguel L., would recommend it. York International School valedictorian headed to NYU Film School
The Mapleton community may want to pay closer attention to the Oscars in the coming years. Tiana L., the 2023 York International School valedictorian, is set to attend the New York University Kanbar Institute of Film and Television next year after earning a full scholarship. According to their website, past graduates include directors like Chris Columbus (Harry Potter, Home Alone) Jon Watts (Spiderman: Homecoming), and Joel Coen (No Country for Old Men).
