Scope of Work

Explore PK-8 will relocate to a new building at 104th Avenue and York Street. The building is designed to reflect the heritage of Colorado farming and ranching in the area. To accommodate the growth of our district, the new Explore will serve preschool through eighth grade students.

UPDATE – March 5, 2020

  • After a snowy February, crews at Global Intermediate Academy are embracing the March sunshine and focusing their attention on the landscaping.
  • Concrete benches and seat boulders will be placed over the next few weeks.
  • The building is getting pops of color, including big blue arches at the front entrance and splashes of yellow test paint on the west-facing wall.
  • Crews are wrapping up interior finishes, including paint on the doorways and classroom walls, tiling in the bathroom and hallways, and casework in select classrooms.
  • In the next few weeks, floors in the science room, art room, and cafeteria space will be polished.


UPDATE – Feb. 28, 2020

  • The exterior gravel for the playground will be placed once the weather allows. 
  • In the next few weeks, the trailer will move to another site to make room for crews to tend to the landscape and seed the ground. 
  • the preschool shade structure will be installed in early March. 
  • Next week, the acoustic panels will be delivered for paint and installation in the gym. This will allow better sound in the large space. 
  • Pads for the gym walls will also be installed. 
  • The gym projector screen will be installed on March 11. 
  • The light poles are at the school and will be installed soon. 
  • Floor polishing is complete in the classroom commons and will move on to the grand hall and western classrooms next.
