Scope of Work

• Replace the current building with four small schools: PreK-3, 4-8, and two small high schools
• Mapleton received $11 million from the state's Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) grant program to fund the construction of GIA 

Global Intermediate (4-8) Construction Updates

UPDATE – March 5, 2020

• After a snowy February, crews at Global Intermediate Academy are embracing the March sunshine and focusing their attention on the landscaping.
• Concrete benches and seat boulders will be placed over the next few weeks.
• The building is getting pops of color, including big blue arches at the front entrance and splashes of yellow test paint on the west-facing wall.
• Crews are wrapping up interior finishes, including paint on the doorways and classroom walls, tiling in the bathroom and hallways, and casework in select classrooms.
• In the next few weeks, floors in the science room, art room, and cafeteria space will be polished.

• Interior structural steel is complete.
• Crews are busy on both floors finalizing all the drywall installation. 
• Landscaping on the southside of the building will begin when weather permits.

• Rough-ins for the ductwork remains ongoing throughout the school. 
• Sitework prepping for landscape is starting this week on the southside of the building. 
• White primer now wraps around the entire building in preparation for paint. The colors will be similar to those found at Global Leadership Academy.
