Global Primary Updates

Students, families, and staff celebrated the grand opening of the second completed school building on the Broadway Campus, Global Primary Academy!

The school was designed with the importance of early childhood education in mind. The building merges the comforts of home with the wonders of the outdoors. Little woodland animals and constellations are painted on the walls throughout the building for children to find during the school day.

The Broadway Campus is still a very active construction site, as crews continue work on Global Leadership Academy (9-12). This building is on track to open in January 2019. Planning and design work for Global Intermediate Academy (4-8) is underway. Construction of Global Intermediate Academy will begin after the demolition of the current Global building. Global Intermediate Academy staff and students will temporarily move into the Global Leadership Academy building in January until construction of their building is complete. When crews and earthmovers leave the Broadway Campus by 2020, the campus will be home to four schools and a fine arts center.

UPDATE - July 2018

Posted by Blackboard Trainer on 7/1/2018 Construction at Global PK-3 is progressing rapidly toward it’s expected TCO date of Aug. 10. 

• Interior finishes are nearing completion throughout the building, and playground spaces are beginning to take shape.
• Owner punch walks have been scheduled for the week of July 16.
• Interior signage is scheduled for installation in mid-July, and FF&E installation will take place Aug. 6 through Aug. 10. At this time, progress appears to be on track to complete for the on-time return of teachers and students.
• Neenan has issued Owner Change Orders #4 and #5 for scope changes including additional site improvements, finish changes and project savings. The overall budget of $18,001,401 is intact, with approximately $532K in unallocated funds.

Interior drywall finishing is mostly complete and classroom casework has been installed. 

Interior signage design and procurement are in-process.
Window installation is complete.
Gas and electrical service will be activated shortly.
August completion is projected and school is set to start on Aug. 22, 2018.
