Scope of Work

After 60 years of serving students, Valley View closed at the end of the 2018-19 school year. The new Valley View school building will be funded in part by a more than $17M Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) grant from the state of Colorado. As a part of this grant, the school building is designed to meet requirements from the Collaborative for High-Performance Schools (CHPS). These requirements aim to maximize the health and performance of students and staff, minimize waste, and save precious operating dollars during construction and throughout the life of the building.

• Construction of the new Valley View PK-8 building continues to progress as crews focus their attention at the top – the roof!
• The foundation is complete and sections of structural steel are set. Crews have enclosed parts of the school with huge, vaulted ceilings. This process has allowed crew members to add HVAC ducts in the north hall, library, and open lab spaces.
• Exterior sheathing is starting to appear on the northeast and northwest classroom walls and will soon enclose most exterior walls in the coming weeks. On the southwest wing, crews are working on the cafeteria and recreation space structural framing. These spaces will serve multiple purposes create limitless learning opportunities for staff and students.
• The new Valley View school building is funded in part by a more than $17M Building Excellent Schools Today (BEST) grant from the State of Colorado.
• We can’t wait to begin seeing classrooms and breakout areas start to take shape! We anticipate Valley View PK-8 to open in the fall of 2022.

• The Valley View PK-8 school building project is underway!
• A few weeks after breaking ground, crews have begun earthwork, clearing large amounts of soil from the site.
• To get the school’s footing set, construction crews first must set up a Cassian foundation.
• This process combines concrete and rebar into prefabricated cylinders that will go deep within the ground and make sure the school stands strong for centuries.
• We are so excited to watch the process begin to go vertical in the months to come!
