'Grab & Go' meals available in Mapleton
Mapleton recognizes that when children are well-nourished, their ability to learn improves. To continue with our commitment to providing delicious and well-balanced meals to students, we are offering walk up or drive through 'Grab & Go' meals at three sites in Mapleton to ensure no one learns on an empty stomach.
Please note important changes to Mapleton’s ‘Grab and Go’ meal service schedule and locations:
Meals are served on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only at three sites in Mapleton. To ensure students are receiving a healthy breakfast and lunch every day, Nutrition Services will be providing families with multiple days’ worth of meals. For example, on Monday, families can pick up meals for both Monday and Tuesday. Meals may be picked up between 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. from the following locations through Wednesday, Aug. 26:
Global Primary Academy (7480 N. Broadway, Denver) - Pick up will be in the bus loop by GPA.
Clayton Partnership School (Skyview Campus) - Pick up will be in the Clayton loop
Welby Community School (1200 E. 78th Ave., Denver) - Pick up will be in the bus loop beginning on the north side of the building.
On Fridays, families are encouraged to take home meals for Saturday and Sunday, too!
All families will receive lunch for the day and breakfast for the next day. These meals will be available to all children through age 18, regardless of what school they attend. No paperwork, proof of residence, or student identification is required. This program is for pick-up of meals only. Meals cannot be consumed on-site.
Mapleton's Nutrition Services Department
Nutrition Services recognizes that when children are well-nourished, their ability to learn improves. Mapleton's Nutrition Services Department has made a serious commitment to providing delicious and well-balanced meals for your children.
Mapleton Public Schools provides approximately 3,600 nutritious meals every day to students and staff, including a daily breakfast and lunch meal. School meals are beneficial to your child because they help develop sound nutritional habits by exposing students to a variety of foods. We offer many food choices and provide healthful fruits and vegetables daily. A well-nourished student has better attendance, is more attentive and better behaved, and has an increased energy level. All of these elements are tied to academic success.
Menus are designed to provide choices preferred by our students while still meeting their nutritional needs. Students are encouraged to make wise choices and to try different foods.
Our department is comprised of caring people, many of them living in the community. Please feel free to call the nutrition services supervisor in your child's school for assistance at any time.
Our website has been developed not only to better serve our community but also to serve as an overview of our program.
Whether you are searching for a particular menu or prices, programs, and services, employment opportunities, or helpful numbers, or you are just checking to see what is new, you should be able to find it right here at your fingertips!
