GIA Pre-Collegiate Program
Eighteen Global Intermediate Academy students have been accepted into the University of Colorado Boulder’s Pre-Collegiate Middle School Academic Program (PCMSAP)! PCMSAP was designed to adequately prepare first generation college-bound students in 7th and 8th grades to enroll in a college preparatory curriculum and successfully complete their secondary school career. Parents of the selected students are also encouraged to participate in the program alongside their children. PCMSAP is a gateway program to the Pre-Collegiate High School program and the Pre-Collegiate Bridge program. In order to qualify for participation in the subsequent programs, students and their parents are expected to remain active participants throughout their middle school years.
PCMSAP will offer students the opportunity to engage in a variety of virtual pre-college activities throughout the school year. The academic component will offer students Saturday programming consisting of necessary study skills (i.e. effective note taking, test preparation, effective listening, etc.). Students will also be exposed to supplemental academic instruction, communication skills development, career exploration, high school transition preparation, and parent partnership workshops.
Congratulations to the selected Global Intermediate Academy students!
