Taste of Mapleton

Taste of Mapleton Logo

“Taste of Mapleton” encourages you to try something new!

Clean label, antibiotic-free, scratch-baked, slow-cooked, simmered, chopped, brined, marinated and sautéed.

No, these aren’t words swiped from the menu of a reservation-only restaurant. These words describe the lunches served at every school in Mapleton every school day! With the help of Chef Gabe Aragon, a leader in the local culinary industry for more than 20 years, Mapleton’s Nutrition Services team has introduced a healthy, from-scratch menu entirely driven and designed by the likes (and dislikes) of students.

With the launch of “Taste of Mapleton,” Nutrition Services is encouraging all students to try something new and enjoy the many items added to the lunch menu this year. New lunch items include homemade tomato soup, taco pizza, chicken pot pie, homemade mac n’ cheese, and pesto chicken, just to name a few.

Each week for the next five weeks we will share a fun fact about Mapleton’s Nutrition Services Department as well as the “Try Something New” feature item. Students who try something new will have a chance to win great prizes. Check back weekly for more about “Taste of Mapleton,” or visit www.mapleton.us.
