Art for the Sky at Monterey!

Monterey mountain lion Monterey students become "human drops of paint" to create an image of the school mascot

Monterey Community School students became “human drops of paint” in an image that only makes sense from the sky! As a part of Monterey’s two-day Art for the Sky activity, led by Oregon conceptual artist, author and educator, Daniel Dancer, students created the shape of their school mascot, the mountain lion. The mountain lion’s face was formed by students wearing black, brown and white t-shirts. Other parts of the design were formed by blue jeans, sheets, and donated black-dyed mulch.

This activity was made possible by generous funds from the Mapleton Education Foundation. The drone used to take the photo was donated by the Adams County Fire Department. Thank you for making this amazing photo possible!
