Mapleton's AF JROTC Chief Master Sgt. Rodewald Awarded

The Air Force just released its Outstanding Instructor Award (OIA) for 2020, and our very own Chief Master Sgt. Rob Rodewald is on the list!

This year, he is one of five instructors from all Colorado Air Force JROTC units to receive this prestigious award. He was also a recipient of the 2019 Air Force JROTC OIA award.

Chief Master Sgt. Rodewald was nominated by his colleague, Lt. Col. Arrington, for his dedication to Mapleton’s JROTC program, for his outstanding leadership and for his ability to develop meaningful lesson plans that truly impact Mapleton’s cadets.

This year, Chief Master Sgt. Rob Rodewald coordinated Mapleton’s AF JROTC 9/11 POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony, organized the Cadet Candy Fundraiser raising more than $3,000 for students to attend the Cadet Military Ball, created the first Cadet Drill Team Sgt. position, led and supervised various cadet volunteer opportunities including leaf racking for local neighborhoods, work with Christmas cards for Cards to the Troops, and work with the Children’s Hospital for arts and craft, among so much more.

Chief Master Sgt. Rodewald has had an impact on many Mapleton cadets, and it seems they’ve had an impact on him. “I love JROTC more than Command Chief Duties,” joked Chief Master Sgt. Rob Rodewald.

Congratulations, and thank you for all you do for Mapleton students!
