Resources for Families and Educators:
This page will be reviewed and updated as needed when new events and resources are identified. Please contact the gifted and talented program for any links that are not working:
District Events:
- GT Summer Camp (Registration): Mapleton’s annual GT Summer Camp will be offered June 2-6, 2025. This is a free enrichment camp designed for formally-identified gifted students in grades K-7. Registration information is sent out to eligible families after Spring Break each year.
- GT Summer Camp (Community Service): High school students in grades 10-11 can earn community service hours by serving as teacher aides in the GT Summer Camp. Application information is sent out to all high school GT Leads for distribution to the students at their school after Spring Break each year.
Other Events:
- DCPA Education Department: The DCPA offers a range of PK-12 children’s theater classes throughout the year and during the summer. This is a fee-based program, but there are scholarships available.
- CAG/SENG VIrtual Family Conference: The conference costs $25 and will take place on May 8, 2025 (Thursday) from 6:00-8:00pm PST via Zoom.
Summer Programs:
- Summer at Rick's: Located at the University of Denver, Summer at Ricks offers an enriching experience where bright minds can explore their passions, challenge their abilities, and connect with like-minded peers. This is a fee-based program.
- UNC Summer Programs: The University of Northern Colorado (Greeley) offers summer classes, including Summer Enrichment Program (grades 5-10), Young Child Program (ages 4-5), and Leadership Enrichment Program (high school) . This is a fee-based program.
- IEA: Yunasa Summer Programs: The Institute for Educational Advancement offers two summer programs, including one in Colorado. This is a fee-based program.
