Helpful Resources for Families
ParentGuidance.org – Mental Health Resources for Parents
Too often, parents can't find accurate information for the specific questions they have about parenting and mental health. ParentGuidance.org is a mental health resource that gives parents the tools to have important conversations at home.
ParentGuidance.org is available to Mapleton Public Schools through a generous ongoing grant from the Cook Center for Human Connection. Parents receive at no cost:
- Online on-demand courses taught by licensed therapists
- National family mental health nights hosted by trained professionals
- User-generated Ask a Therapist questions and answers
To report potentially violent situations, threats or other serious concerns, utilize the anonymous 24 hour Safe2Tell reporting system via phone call, text or online form. Safe2Tell reports are sent immediately to school officials and law enforcement. Please utilize this system only for very serious concerns. Check out the new Safe2Tell App for your mobile device.
988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States.
When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
