Mapleton Public Schools

Resources for Families

A resourceful and responsive community working together to ensure that no obstacle shall impede a student's success.

In Mapleton Public Schools, we believe that everyone deserves unlimited opportunities to maximize their unique abilities. We believe people thrive in a caring environment, and know that effective learning and teaching takes place in safe, secure, and welcoming environments. In February, the Board of Education unanimously adopted a resolution reaffirming Mapleton’s commitment to welcoming, protective, learning-focused environments.

The resolution, Affirming Support for All Students, Families, and Staff Members, elevates the belief statements that are central to our mission. It declares Mapleton a Safe Zone, where all students, regardless of their background, can achieve their dreams in caring environments, free of fear, disruptions and discrimination. To provide a quality public education to every student, regardless of a child or family member’s citizenship/immigration status, Mapleton will:

  • Continue to adhere to the Federal Education Rights and Privacy Act, protecting student privacy,
  • Assist families in keeping emergency contacts up to date, and
  • Not cooperate in any effort to enforce federal immigration law.

988

988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), and is now active across the United States.

When people call, text, or chat 988, they will be connected to trained counselors that are part of the existing Lifeline network. These trained counselors will listen, understand how their problems are affecting them, provide support, and connect them to resources if necessary.
